Position Overview:

In this position, you will contribute as part of the Operations and Project Management teams responsible for managing complex plantwide and/or project schedules for manufacturing advanced rail vehicle projects. You will develop, monitor, and update schedules, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. You will be responsible for driving specific manufacturing departments and/or projects to meet the Factory Master Schedule and be directly involved in creating recovery and mitigation plans. You will be involved in many planning and problem-solving aspects related to capacity planning, process improvements, lean manufacturing, design engineering, supply chain management, forecasting, and bid preparation. This role involves close collaboration with operations managers, project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project planning, mitigation, and control. You will work within a team environment to gather inputs for complex problems and provide analysis with solution options.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, dashboards, and reports to reflect changes in scope, timelines, and resource allocation using project management software (e.g., Primavera P6).
  • Solicit weekly progress by developing and nurturing relationships with business stakeholders and adapting communication strategies to acquire timely information.
  • Identify and assess risks and conflicts that may impact schedules and develop mitigation plans.
  • Identify resource allocation optimization opportunities to meet customer expectations, deadlines, and internal financial goals.
  • Analyze key project data including critical path, milestone planning, resource utilization, labor reports, and costs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, driving the team to overcome roadblocks or delays through various methods such as industry-related knowledge, innovative shortcuts, or alternative strategies based on internal or external business observations.

    To thrive in this role, you have:

    • Bachelor's degree or higher in technical field.
    • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in project scheduling and control.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
    • Ability to interpret and analyze complex data.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

      Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

      • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field with focus on manufacturing (e.g. Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar).
      • Strong interest in Project Management/Project Controls.
      • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
      • Experience with lean manufacturing principles (value, value stream mapping, flow, pull, continuous improvement)
      • Experience Kaizen principles and implementation (5S Methodology, 5 Whys, Pareto analysis).
      • Knowledge/understanding of ERP/MRP (Preferably SAP).
      • Experience in fostering strong partnerships and navigating competing priorities with key stakeholders.

          This position is based in Sacramento, CA. We offer a variety of health and wellness benefits to employees. Details regarding our benefits can be found here: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.html . The base salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA, is $71,900 - $84,500. The salary may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
