Position Overview:

We are seeking a Group Lead Weld Finishing Inspector to coordinate inspection activities, develop guidelines and training materials, and lead critical non-routine inspections. This role involves performing complex inspections independently, training less experienced inspectors, and preparing detailed reports. Additionally, the Group Lead will manage root cause evaluations, ensure 6S standards, and handle consumables and equipment maintenance.

What Your Day May Look Like:

  • Actively coordinates with Production Supervisors to plan and execute inspection activities in an area per agreed upon schedule.
  • Actively participates in the development of inspection guidelines, instructions, and training material.
  • Leads critical non-routine visual, dimensional, mechanical, electrical test, and functional inspections on a wide variety of components, assemblies, equipment, systems, supplies, and materials.
  • Works independently to perform complex and critical inspection processes, requiring special set-ups of new or unique equipment and interpretation of test data from a variety of sources.
  • Regular use of Spectrophotometers, DFT gauges, Orange Peel meters, dolly pull testers, pencil/knife hardness testers.
  • Trains and/or oversees the work of less experienced inspectors.
  • May conduct first article inspection of parts and assemblies.
  • Prepares, approves inspection reports, charts, and records regarding quality measures, conformance status, and quantity of material processed.
  • Leads root cause evaluations and corrective actions utilizing quality tools.
  • Prepares charts and simple statistical analysis.
  • Coordinates ordering of consumables and small tools for department use.
  • Ensures assigned areas meet 6S standards and submits equipment maintenance requests.

    What Will Make You Thrive:
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • 7 to 10 years' experience in a weld shop environment.
    • 5 or more years' experience with CWI inspection of increasingly difficult inspections involving the application and working knowledge of sophisticated measuring techniques.
    • Complex dimensional, drawing, and weld standard interpretation experience.
    • Proven experience with specification interpretation and quality control terminology, and significant leadership or coaching experience.

          Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

          This position is located in Sacramento, CA. The hourly range for this position is $38.76- $52.44 per hour and there is a 10% shift differential for 2 nd shift. Candidate must be able to flex and work any of the shifts due to business needs. The role is authorized for overtime and shift differential pay for certain work schedules. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
