You'll pursue innovative ideas while advancing professionally alongside some of the brightest minds in biopharma.Position ResponsibilitiesBMS seeks a highly motivated, creative, and collaborative Molecular and/or Cellular Biologist to join our Cardiovascular Discovery Biology team. This person will support research efforts to discover and develop novel therapies for the treatment of serious cardiovascular disease, including genetic cardiomyopathies and heart failure. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teams in Biochemistry/Biophysics, Cell Biology, Lead Discovery and Optimization (LDO) to support BMS's Cardiovascular Research and Early Discovery efforts. Research will be aimed at establishment and validation of cellular models for novel therapeutic targets, and development of cellular assays for high throughput screening. The candidate will be a highly motivated individual with extensive experience in iPSC handling and cardiomyogenic differentiation, molecular and cellular biology techniques, gene expression modulation and cellular assay development. Previous experience with cell line engineering, and HTS screening methodologies will be highly desirable. This position provides an exciting opportunity to be a part of and grow with a key discovery function within the CV Discovery Biology Department.In the role as a Senior Associate Scientist within Molecular and Cellular Technology, the ideal candidate will:

• Perform standard cell culture support including maintenance and cardiogenic differentiation of iPSC lines
• Support iPSC-CM differentiation and manufacturing towards generating disease models and supporting screening campaigns.
• Broad range of molecular and cellular biology methods to interrogate and validate iPSC disease models and novel therapeutic targets/hypotheses.
• Work closely with our discovery biology and LDO teams to develop and optimize HTS cell-based biological and validation assays.
• Support gene-editing of mammalian cells, including iPSCs, towards generating disease models.
• Prepare reports, publications and present to senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Support some lab management duties as assigned.Basic Qualifications:

        • 2+ years of industry experiencePreferred Qualifications:
          • Extensive hands-on experience in cell biology and cellular assays including iPSC line maintenance and cardiogenic differentiation as well as functional assessment of healthy and diseased iPSC-CMs is highly desirable.
          • Strong experience with cellular and molecular biology methodologies including cytotoxicity assays, gene expression analysis, RNAi technologies and immunocytochemistry.
          • Hands on experience with methodologies for functional assessment of iPSC-CMs (contractility, electrophysiology, metabolic properties) is strongly preferred
          • Experience with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing technologies is desirable.For CA, based candidates only: The starting compensation for this job is a range from $83,000 - $104,000, plus incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility).The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills and where the job is performed.
