In support of this mission, the Executive Office (EO) is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the activities of CARB, the Divisions within CARB, and the staff within those divisions. The Executive Office works closely with the Chair's Office and Board members, the California Environmental Protection Agency, the Governor's Office, other state agencies, the Legislature, and external stakeholders to carry out the mission of CARB.This position will play a key role in leading California's transition to electrifying the transportation sector and addressing long-standing transportation inequities to achieve California's clean air, community protection, and climate goals.Under the general direction of the Executive Officer and the direction of the Principal Deputy Executive Officer, the Deputy Executive Officer (DEO), Mobile Sources and Incentives, serves as a member of the executive staff and advises and assists in the development, planning, coordination, policy formulation, strategic planning, and technical evaluation of new and emerging air pollution control programs and policies related to on- and off-road mobile sources of emissions and incentive programs in the Sustainable Transportation and Communities Division, and the Mobile Source Control Division; is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of all board programs assigned to them; directs programs related to the development of federal, state, and local air quality plans; manages activities related to assessing and reducing air pollution from motor vehicles and other sources; collaborates with local air pollution control districts as well as other state and international partners in the development and implementation of clean transportation strategies; manages highly technical staff responsible for providing the highest quality scientific information and technology possible for actions to protect the health of the people and the environment of California from the effects of air pollution.Working ConditionsThis position may be eligible for hybrid in-office work and in-state telework. The amount of telework is at the agency's discretion and is based on the California Air Resource Boards' (CARB) current telework policy.
