Under general supervision, as part of an enterprise network engineering team, this position is responsible for the most complex network engineering and consulting supporting networking needs of the enterprises current and projected user community. This position is primarily responsible for content networking and network load-balancing. In addition to, advanced data/voice network hardware and software specification, design, configuration, testing, implementation, and support. This position is the senior level for the Enterprise Network Engineer job family.
 
 
 
Duties include:
 
• Administrative/Supervisory Activities: Reports on the status of assigned projects both orally and in writing. Assists in preparing budget plans, verifies telco bills and assists in forecasting network and security costs where applicable.
 
• Planning and Control Activities: Participates in initial plans for assigned tasks to review with the manager.
 
• General Network Support Activities: Primary job function will involve the designing and maintaining the network load-balancing infrastructure across the enterprise. This includes a senior level expertise knowledge in troubleshooting. As part of an engineering team, supports the operation of the enterprise private LAN/WAN/MAN and Internet-based business solutions that are located at various enterprise business locations throughout the continental United States and Internationally. Establishes advance network design standards, most complex configuration and implementation plans and structured cabling support that satisfies current and projected user community requirements. As required, leads the complex level network consulting, project management of large scale projects and most complex advanced level troubleshooting activities.
 
• Documentation Preparation Activities: Participates in qualifying and documenting networking requirements for enterprise business units and business partners
 
 
 
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
 
• Expert knowledge and troubleshooting of content networking and network load-balancing
 
• Strong knowledge of Application troubleshooting as it relates to load-balancing and flows
 
• Bachelor’s Degree and/or technical certificate focusing on Networking Management and/or equivalent education and proven experience as a network engineer in a large heterogeneous networking environment.
 
• 7 or more years’ experience including 4 years’ experience as an Enterprise Network Engineer II. Have expert knowledge of Network topologies
 
• Previous experience with Cisco routed and switched infrastructure in a large networked environment.
 
• Expert knowledge of routed and routing protocols (EIGRP, BGP, OSPF)
 
• Expert experience with Network protocol analyzers.
 
• Expert knowledge of and experience with Network Sensor technologies, Network Firewalls, VPN, access control lists, NAT/PAT and vulnerability scanning.
 
• Expert knowledge of Layers 1-4. Expert knowledge of Frame Relay, ATM, MPLS, VPN and DSL.
 
• Work well in a "fluid" environment where changes in business direction require shifts in project and business objectives.
 
• Work well with others in a team environment. Possess superior independent problem-solving techniques.
 
• Have a proven record for supporting computer systems, including Server and PC trouble shooting of network-related issues.
 
• Have superior communication abilities and highly developed organizational skills.
 
• Have a broad based excellent technical knowledge. Have expert comprehension of the capabilities enabled by the technical platforms, languages and tools listed below:
 
• Windows, Linux and Unix OS, as it pertains to networking, Physical cabling, TCP/IP, MPLS, VoIP and IP Telephony technologies, Ethernet 10/100/1000, 10G, EtherChannel , Network General Sniffer, Niksun, Wireshark, Telephony technologies, Visio, Microsoft Project, HP Openview, Solarwinds, LAN Administration, WAN Administration, Network Security, Internet Explorer, HTTP/S Analyzers, Netflow tools
