Job Description:

Job Summary: Assist Team Leader in daily operations including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor and regulatory compliance. Lead and develop Team Members. Provide courteous and efficient service to customers and Team Members.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and maintain store layout and product merchandising.
  • Work with Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing and labor targets.
  • Assist Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports and labor.
  • Assist Team Leader in annual sales and expense projections and budget preparation.
  • Assist Team Leader with ordering and inventory management.
  • Work with Team Leader to resolve team concerns or issues.
  • Function as point person and departmental person in charge in absence of Team Leader.
  • Set and achieve highest standards of retail execution.
  • Foster and encourage a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect and exceptional morale.
  • Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs and direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
  • Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate and counsel Team Members.
  • Communicate and maintain Team Member safety and security standards.
  • Provide timely, thorough and thoughtful performance evaluations.
  • Communicate and model WFM vision and goals.


    Requirements:

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and operations-related applications.


      Experience: 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.

      Physical Requirements:

      • Lift 50 pounds.
      • Stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day.
      • Use hands for single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
      • Perform bending, twisting, squatting and reaching.
      • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.
      • Work in a wet and cold environment and handle knives and other cutting equipment.
      • Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
      • Use tools and equipment including box cutters, electric pallet jacks and other heavy machinery.
