Job Description:

Catering Manager role at Sacred Heart University is responsible for managing the Catering Department in all duties, including training new associates, overseeing event set-ups, and directing temporary personnel. Proper service to clients during events, including set-up, cleaning, and breakdown procedures, is ensured. Key responsibilities include supervising all catering events, managing logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and facility-related activities. The Catering Manager works with the Chef to create menus and trains associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.

• Supervises all catering events.
• Involved in catering operations, including logistics, quality improvement, sanitation, and facility-related activities.
• Works with the Chef to create menus.
• Trains associates in service techniques, menu presentation, and customer service.
• Tracks labor and food costs for each event.
• Communicates with management, clients, customers, and associates, maintaining excellent client relationships.
• Assists with foodservice-related activities.Requirements:
  • 2 years of food service experience, including 1 year at the management level.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, healthcare, and related food service operations.
  • Catering experience is required.
  • Some knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
  • Financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills.
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products.
