Practice (NCP) provides consulting services to a diverse portfolio
of clients including Managed Care Organizations, Medicaid and
Medicare health plans, state and governmental health-related
agencies, healthcare companies and providers, private equity firms,
and health-related trade associations. They help these clients
navigate opportunities to secure Medicaid program contracts and
strengthen their Medicaid operations and financial performance. Our
teams work together to ensure client-focused solutions that result
in successful outcomes.About the RoleSellers Dorsey is seeking a
Director, Consulting to support the National Consulting Practice's
clients in California. The Director is an innovative,
self-motivated, and results-driven leader passionate about making a
difference in Medicaid and the health and human services safety
net. This role is instrumental in expanding the firm's footprint in
California by developing and implementing novel solutions that
enhance access, quality, and outcomes for a diverse range of
clients.Working closely with the Managing Director, the Director
will leverage policy expertise, industry knowledge, and strategic
insight to deliver high-impact consulting services. This role is
responsible for managing client relationships at a senior level,
overseeing policy and technical aspects of projects, and ensuring
the successful execution of client deliverables.Additionally, the
Director will provide strategic advice and counsel to Sellers
Dorsey business partners, federal agencies, state governments,
private companies, and key industry stakeholders. They will be
responsible for policy guidance, direct service delivery, project
management, and client satisfaction. A key aspect of this role
includes identifying new and expanded business opportunities,
leading proposal development, and driving initiatives that
strengthen the firm's impact primarily in California but also
nationwide.Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality consulting services to clients, including
strategic guidance, operational support, and policy expertise.
- Manage client relationships at a senior level, ensuring client
satisfaction and successful project execution.
- Lead and contribute to the development of innovative solutions
to address client challenges in health and human services.
- Support clients in navigating complex regulatory environments,
market shifts, and policy changes.Business Development:
- Develop innovative products and solutions that can be
introduced into the market to address evolving client needs.
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities to drive the
firm's growth strategy in California.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders,
including state and local agencies, healthcare organizations, and
industry partners.
- Contribute to proposal development and presentations to secure
new engagements.Internal Capacity Building & Firm Culture:
- Participate in and contribute to internal initiatives that
strengthen the firm's culture and collaboration.
- Engage in communities of practice to share knowledge, leverage
firm-wide capabilities, and enhance collective expertise.
- Mentor and support colleagues, fostering a culture of learning
and professional growth.Other Duties as Assigned (5%)
- Support additional firm priorities and initiatives as
needed.Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 15 or more combined years in a public
healthcare policy management role and/or in the healthcare
consulting industry.
- Advanced degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Public
Health, Health Administration, business, economics, MBA, or
similar, preferred.
- Executive or Administrator experience in leading teams to
design, execute, and implement significant changes within the
California Medicaid program is required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
required.Other Requirements
- Excellent oral and written communication skills including the
ability to relay complex technical terms in an easy-to-understand
manner.
- Ability to interact professionally with clients and other
outside audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required;
experience in quantitative program evaluation is highly
desirable.
- The ability to work effectively independently and in
teams.
- Experience delivering services on several projects
simultaneously.The anticipated salary range for candidates is
$154,300/year in our lowest geographic market range to up to
$195,000/year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will
be dependent on several factors that may include but are not
limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the
type of years and experience within the industry, the candidate's
education, and the candidate's market location. Typically,
candidates are not hired near the top of the range and compensation
decisions are made based upon Sellers Dorsey's Total Compensation
Policies & Guidelines. The successful candidate will also be
eligible to participate in our annual Corporate Incentive Plan
(CIP) that can range to up to 15% of annual salary.Provided they
meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan
documents, the successful candidate (and their eligible dependents)
will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer
medical, dental, and vision and for insurance plans offering short
term disability, long term disability, and basic life. Employees
are also able to enroll in Sellers Dorsey's 401k plan provided they
meet plan requirements. Sellers Dorsey offers a Flexible Time Off
that allows employees to use what they need. Additionally, we offer
10 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, paid time off for
qualifying medical leave, and up to 12 weeks of combined paid
parental and bonding leave. The foregoing benefits and paid time
