Rate of Pay: The salary range for this position in Sacramento, CA is $138,486 - $181,300 per year and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. Duties: Provide drafting support to engineers on submittals and as-built drawings. Design new components, modification of mechanical drawings, and incorporate field or customer-based changes. Execute (individually or as member of an engineering team) customized production orders under minimum supervision, utilizing industry standards and best engineering practices. Provide cross-functional support with EPMs, design leads, designers, and system engineers while supporting multiple simultaneous projects and platform designs. Support the Project / Platform Drawing Tree creation and updates. Support procurement, manufacturing, and testing cycles. Must be able to develop conceptual designs and lead others to implement the final solution. Applicants must have experience in a manufacturing environment with the ability to grow team members design skills to drive the team to produce the highest quality design releases in accordance with project schedules and budgets.

Requirements : Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 60 months of experience in the job offered or in a Component Engineer-related occupation.

Position requires experience in the following:

• 1. 3 years of experience with Rolling Stock.
• 2. Working with design Sheet metal and welded Steel Structures.
• 3. Working in Mechanical and Electrical integration.
• 4. Working with Fiberglass and plastic part design.
• 5. Corrosion protection, including: Paint, Powder Coat, anodizing, and zinc plating.
• 6. AutoCAD including 2D models and drawings for legacy projects.
• 7. Working with PTC CREO 9.0 or higher sheet metal, piping, surfacing and advanced modeling.
• 8. Working with Product Lifecycle Management software (PLM) such as Windchill or Teamcenter.
