Job Description:

In conjunction with Senior PDev Scientists, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will play a critical role in the transfer process for NPD's, as well as equipment assessments and replacements, validation activities, continuous improvement projects and resolving quality issues that occur in Operations. The candidate must be efficient, detail oriented and highly collaborative and able to lead cross functional teams to resolve critical and complex quality issues. How You'll Make An Impact: Manufacturing Support

  • Expand knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and processes. Apply this knowledge to identify gaps and benchmark against industry best practices to recommend and implement new technology, equipment and processes.
  • Acquire subject matter expert status of existing in-plant technology, equipment and processes.
  • Provide ongoing support for manufacturing equipment and processes by assessing and trouble-shooting problems or issues.
  • Mentor engineers and operators to improve production capacity and troubleshoot existing plant problems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve quality, cost and safety and champion them.
  • Manage the in-plant equipment health assessment program to ensure that equipment is maintained in a supportable state.
  • Conduct training on process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (pFMEA) and facilitate meetings for conducting pFMEA analysis.
  • Review and update pFMEAs on an ongoing basis.
    Technology, Equipment and Processes
    • Utilize risk analysis to identify, specify and design technology, equipment and processes.
    • Champion technology, equipment and processes upgrades and acquisition of new technology, equipment and applications.
    • Prepare user, operation and design requirements for new equipment.
    • Design tools and equipment and/or prepare bid packages for equipment acquisition and manage the bid review and approval process.
    • Prepare and justify financial evaluations for major capital expenditures.
    • Manage equipment build process including design review, factory acceptance testing, facilities build out for new equipment, delivery and installation of new equipment and site acceptance testing.
    • Perform engineering studies on equipment to verify operation and performance.
    • Prepare operating procedures for equipment and related work instructions.
    • Acquire subject matter expert status for new technology, equipment and processes and provide training.
    • Participate and/or manage the qualification process.
      What You Bring:
      • Education: BS or MS in Engineering or equivalent.
      • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma.
      • Knowledge of PLC programming.
      • Knowledge of controls integration.
      • Capable of clear and concise communication of technical data, both written and oral
      • Proven ability of innovative thinking and resourceful, organized problem-solving
      • Track record of self-motivated design, execution and analysis of experiments on aggressive schedules in a rapidly changing environment
      • Capacity to thrive in a multidisciplinary setting while working alongside engineers, biologists, software developers and manufacturing professionals
      • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing principles and techniques.
      • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
      • Proficient with computer-aided drafting (CAD) software.
      • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $114,700 to $157,800 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
