The candidate will play a key role in the development process of in-house server motherboards, by working collaboratively with a cross-functional engineering team as well as outside partners to ensure the robust design of the boards. As a Hardware Design Manager, you are expected to be self-motivated and possess a strong will to do great things, with a result-driven mindset to develop the most competitive and enduring board products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned):

  • Responsible for schematics capture, layout checking, BOM generating, and debugging and testing of server motherboards / add-on cards / backplane products.
  • Collaborate with layout engineers, validation engineers, software engineers, firmware engineers, product engineers, and other teams to discover and solve any engineering issues in the early stages to ensure and enhance the quality of the products.
  • Prepare technical documentation including product specifications, layout instructions, test procedures, etc.
  • Ensure the products conform to engineering specifications, EMC and energy regulations, and customer performance expectations.
  • Provide clear documentation and strong technical support to the contract manufacturers and production department during the product sample and production stages.
  • Work closely with sales and customers to provide support on any integrations they need to develop, i.e., contribute to customer RFPs and partner SOWs.
  • Engage with customers at various levels including senior executives, engineering, and product marketing to convey our capabilities and vision, and understand their challenges and requirements. Qualifications:
    • Master's degree in electrical engineering with 7 years or Bachelor's degree with 10 years of experience working with x86 server / workstation boards is preferred.
    • Deep understanding of x86 architecture; comprehensive knowledge of PCB layout, debugging tools and software, oscilloscope, logic analyzer, etc.
    • In-depth knowledge of PCB layout, OrCAD/Allegro tools, circuit design, and PCB structure.
    • Knowledge of high-speed circuit design and voltage regulation circuit design.
    • Familiarity with digital scope and high-speed bus measurement.
    • Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving capability, and strong ability to adopt and learn new notions and technologies.
    • Self-motivated and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment. Salary Range: $179,000 - $200,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
